Warrior Guide

Intro

2. Tanking

3. PvP

4. PvE

5. Talent Builds

6. Gear

1. Intro

The warrior is a hybrid melee in a way. We can tank and yet if specced correctly we can deal a huge amount of damage. Warriors are very gear dependant so it makes life a bit hard in some areas if you dont have a good weapon.

Some aspects of the warrior class are easy to do and others can be rather hard. Sometimes to tank a monster you spam sunder armor and thats it. Other monsters require the use of everything you have to keep it under control.

The warrior is a nice simple class is the hands of one person. And a deadly fighting machine in the hands of a more experienced person. A well played warrior can beat any class in PvP.

2. Tanking

For tanking we have a wide range of abilities to hold aggro. i'll list them here and put a bit of detail to using them

1. Sunder Armor-Our chief aggro holding ability. This can stack up to 5 times and is extremely useful.

2. Revenge-Lights up when you block an attack. Also a nice aggro ability and should be used whenever possible.

3. Shield block-Use this to mitigate some damage and almost always guarantees that you will be able to use revenge.

4. Shield Slam-A nice damage/aggro generation ability. 31 Protection talent

5. Demoralizing Shout-Useful for grabbing groups of monsters aggro and just to take a bit let damage from hard hitting monsters.

6. Shield Bash-Interrupts enemy spell and generates a nice amount of aggro. Use this whenever you can against spell casters.

7. Last Stand-Great ability very nice for hard boss fights increases HP by 30% for 20 seconds. Protection Talent.

8. Devastate-41 Point protection talent, once you have 5 sunders up you can just spam this along with revenge to hold aggro.

3. PvP

In PvP warriors can be very deadly or rather easy to kill depending on how you approach your enemy. i'll list the different classes and how i defeat then. I have played protection, fury, and arms builds.

Warrior: I try to charge and then will switch to defensive stance and try to outlast them. I make sure to disarm if enrage/flurry procs and run circles around them and just wear them down. I can generally win these fights. ?/10

Mage:Mages are a bit tricky depending if they are a fire/arc build or have specced some frost. The former will either 1. completely destroy you in 3 seconds, or 2 you will survive the initial strike and can then get in close and proceed to slaughter them. 6/10

The frost build is harder as it can do a large amount of damage in the first strike and can slow you and thus kite you around as well. Normally you can get a charge off then they will most likely blink. Intercept and attempt to do as much damage as possible in the time you have before he frost nova's and run away. If a frost mage is well played you will have a extremely hard fight. 9/10

Rogue: Rogues are the warriors favorite enemy. Most rogues will actually pop evasion and thus let you rip them apart with overpower. However some rogues have enough skill/equipment that they can pose a problem. Combat rogues are easily defeated as they will generally straight up try to melee you. Disarm and destroy.

Assasination rogues can be tricky to beat as they will generally get the jump on you and some can deal thousands of damage even against plate armor. Most likely you will have slow poison on you now so you need to get a hamstring off on them or they can run circles around you and slaughter you. After the initial strike these rogues arent very scary. If you can survive with a decent amount of HP left you will win this fight. 9/10

Hunters: Hunters are a hard fight and can if played well kite you back and forth forever. Watch out for their Freezing trap and make good use of intercept. If you get in close spam hamstring as much as possible as if they get away your most likely dead. 5/10

Shamans: Shamans can be very easy sometimes. Enhancement shamans should be no problem at all, you melee so much better then them. Elemental shamans generally will be a burst DPS fight. They will blast off alot of damage very fast and your job is to get in close and slaughter them as fast as possible.

If they get to much range they can earthbind and kite you back and forth and that is not good at all. Hamstring them then do as much DPS as possible and dont let them gain any range on you. 6/10

Priest: Holy priests are easy, Mortal Strike slaughters them. Shadow priests can be rather hard some times. I generally find that they will rely on their fear and since you can go immune to fear you can burst DPS them to death. If needed intimidating shout and bandage. 7/10

Paladins: Paladins are generally a hard annoying fight. With patch 1.9 they deal more damage move faster and are more deadly overall. You must outlast them or deal massive damage in a few seconds, hamstring defensive stance and kite them. Make sure MS stays on them if you have it. When they shield + heal you can back up and bandage. This is all about endurance. 3/10

Warlocks: Warlocks can be very annoying, they can stack dots and then kite you all over the place. Death Coil can really help them as well. Try to destroy them as fast as possible before the DoT's build up and kill you. Demonolgy warlocks will be tougher to kill as well. 5/10

Druids: Druid fights are sometimes like paladin fights. They can keep healing and healing. You want to prevent the druid from healing by using pummel and any other stunning items you have.

If they go bear from you should try to kite them back and forth as they will have alot of armor in that form. In cat form they will be easy to kill as they cant out DPS you. In Moonkin form they will also be easy to kill generally as yet again you deal more damage. 5/10

4. PvE

We already covered tanking so this is for grinding and doing DPS.

For grinding i would suggest a fury/arms build as it kills mobs faster then a arms build generally. One thing to keep in mind is that warriors are a very gear dependant class and you should make sure to have the latest weapons at least when grinding. Another thing to remember is that first aid will greatly help your grinding.

For grinding you will want to maximise your killing speed overtime. Warriors are great grinders actually, fury warriors can go for a long time before needing to heal at all. With only green weapons a fury warrior can gets 100's of gold per day. You will want to set up a easy to use pattern for killing and then can almost fall asleep while doing it.

Another thing to do is to watch a movie or read a book while grinding. Pretty much anyone can kill things with one hand if your in a good spot. Just find a good book or watch something on your computer while grinding, trust me it will be alot easier to grind then.
